Privacy Policy

FamilyOS ("we", "us") helps parents track school flyers, reminders, and family schedules through a chat-based assistant (currently on Telegram, with WhatsApp planned). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can delete it.
What we collect

How we use it
- To identify dates, deadlines, and tasks in what you send, and ask you to approve them before saving
- To create, update, and remind you about events on your connected calendar
- To send morning briefings, weekly digests, and reminders in your chat
- To filter flyers based on your kids' grades and schools so you only see what's relevant
- To improve FamilyOS during the alpha (e.g. diagnosing extraction errors)
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to operate FamilyOS. We don't sell your data.
- Anthropic (Claude) — processes message/photo/voice text to extract events and reminders
- OpenAI (Whisper) — transcribes voice notes to text
- Google Calendar — only if you connect it, to create/update events you've approved
- Telegram / Twilio — deliver messages between you and FamilyOS
- Railway — hosts our application and database
How long we keep it
We retain your data for as long as your family account is active, so FamilyOS can remember your family's context and send reminders. You can delete everything at any time (see below).
Your data, your choice
To permanently delete your family's data — profile, kids' info, saved events/reminders, calendar connection, and message history — send the bot:
DELETE MY DATA, then DELETE MY DATA CONFIRM within 10 minutes.
Can't access the bot? Email hello@tryfamilyos.com with "Delete my data" and we'll do it for you.
Children's information
FamilyOS is used by parents/guardians to manage logistics for their children. Parents provide their kids' names, ages, grades, and schools so FamilyOS can filter and personalize reminders. Children do not interact with FamilyOS directly, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children.
Alpha-stage notice
FamilyOS is in an early alpha. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, the product is under active development and may contain bugs. Please avoid sending highly sensitive information (e.g. financial account numbers, medical records) through the bot.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as FamilyOS evolves (e.g. when WhatsApp support launches). We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
